Tigray Communities Forum in North America held a successful Event in LasVegas

Tigray Communities Forum in North America, which was formed by communities from 15 states, has held an event on May 2nd 2018 in Las Vegas. The event included a full day panel discussion and a music entertainment night. Many Tegaru from different states participated in the event.

During the day a panel discussion was held with the Forum leaders as panelists. The panelists discussed the issues listed below.

1. Welcome speech, Atlanta Tigray community experience and introduction to the Forum ; by Ato Mulugeta Gebru; Chairman of the Forum

2. Tigray and Ethiopian Identity; by Dr. Teka Neguse

3. Challenges of Ethiopians/Tegaru in Educating their children in N.A. Dr. Tilahun Beyene

4. The role of Tegaru women in communities in N.A. W/ro Zuriash Amare

5. The role of intellectuals in Tigray Communities in N.A.; by Ato Mersea Kidan

6. Motivational speech; by Ato Desta Alemayehu

After the presentations were completed, a warm and lively discussion was held with all the participants in all the subjects. After going through the discussion, the participants unanimously agreed to support the forum by strengthening Tigray communities in their respective states.

At the end of the panel discussion, the forum leaders announced that Denver is the winner city that will hold the annual gathering of all Tegaru communities in North America. The Event which is scheduled to be held every year on Memorial weekend will be a 3 days long event in which there will be panel discussions, exhibition, music entertainment, cultural shows, academic, talent and Sport competitions as well as other activities. The forum also announced that the name of the event will be “Wa’ela Tegaru” (ዋዕላ ተጋሩ ).

The Event was concluded with an all-night music entertainment led by the young and popular singer Muluberhan Fisseha a.k.a. Wari.
