Two events celebrated by ETCMN members in Minnesota

ETCMN members celebrated two historical events On March 3rd 2018.

The 1st event was the 122 year of the victory of Adwa organized by Ethiopian Community in Minnesota. THe event was held at Higher Ground acadamy from 2 PM to 6PM. Many honorary guests and historians presented historical facts about the Victory and advised all Ethiopians in Minnesota and around the world to keep their unity. Central to the messages of all guest speakers was that Ethiopians should be united. The main lesson from Adwa victory is that when united there is nothing we cant overcome said Professor Haile Getachew who was one of the speakers via teleconference. Board members of ETCMN participated in the event and the chair man Ato Mersea Kidan passed a message to the participants. In his message Ato Mersea said that Ethipian Tigray Community in Minnesota is willing and ready to work in collaboration with other ethiopian communities. He stressed that there are more things that unite the communities than divide them, There fore ETCMN is ready to work in collaboration on things that unite us and minimize the issues that divide us.


The 2nd event was the 43 celebration of the begining of armed struggle by Tigray people. The event was prepared by an organizing committe. Many members of ETCMN participated in the event and enjoyed a great performance by singer Seyoum Alemseged and DJ Philimon. A minutes of silence was held to commemorate the martyres who lost their lives during the struggle. The event was started at 6PM and continued until 3AM. The event was held at Mong community Hall in Saint Paul.
